The Sportskid Whisperer

One of the fondest pastimes for every parent is to watch one’s child growing up. I’m no different and as I watch, I realise, once again, the role that sport plays in the development of a child. I could see the joy born out of mastering new sporting skills and the satisfaction of constant progress, and I said to myself “Let it happen” – this project, I have been thinking about for so long.

But having said that, it is also true that many parents do not actually understand how their child perceives a sport, and therefore limiting the way that they could contribute to or support their child’s involvement with that particular sport. In other words, every parent needs to realise that a child perceives the development of their abilities rather differently than we understand.

This book should help children, parents and anyone involved in sport in any kind of capacity/role, to understand what a child expects from sports and the best way to encourage and support him/her. Let me try and change your view towards your children and their sport, and may this be as much of a joy and pleasure to you as it was for me.
